Look forward to the first Neuenhof Environment Weeks with exciting activities on the topics of nature, traffic and waste. For example, you can learn how to design your garden in a natural way or how to recognize and deal with neophytes. You will have the opportunity to explore the forest at night or discover natural areas in Neuenhof.
The events are accompanied by a small aperitif or snack. And attractive prizes await you in our environmental puzzle.

The way to school experience
On the way to school, your child learns to act independently, make decisions and take responsibility. They can explore their environment, make friends and cultivate friendships. During the environmental weeks, the children decorate their favorite path with self-painted wooden snails.
Let your child enjoy the experience of going to school. Dear parents: how about accompanying him on his “snail’s way” a few times?

This week we ask you to leave your car at home: Instead, give your child the chance to actively walk or cycle to school. Because they learn safe behavior on the road through their own experience. Give your child the experience of going to school and let them enjoy a few minutes of independence every day.
As well as making a small contribution to the environment, you are also making a big contribution to the safety and development of your child.

Immerse yourself in the forest at night! Under expert guidance, you will be introduced to the forest in the dark in a playful way. Experience an exciting adventure and then enjoy a well-earned snack around the campfire.
- Friday, May 3, 2024, from 8 p.m. to approx. 11 p.m,
for teenagers (12 -18 years) - Saturday, May 4, 2024, from 7 p.m. to approx. 10 p.m,
for families and children (8 – 99 years)
The events are limited to 40 people each, so registration is required. Registrations will be considered according to the date of receipt.

Create a near-natural garden at the Papprich cemetery together with the gardening and green maintenance team of the Werkhof, with the support of the Neuenhof Nature and Bird Protection Association. On both days, the event will be rounded off with a snack/aperitif.

- Saturday, May 25, 2024, 9:30-12:00, followed by a barbecue

Neophyte exhibition
For two weeks, we will be presenting various neophytes with corresponding information in front of the town hall. (Neophytes are plants that are not native to our country; invasive neophytes are also spreading rapidly and displacing native species).
On Wednesday, May 22, employees of the maintenance depot and the municipality’s neophyte officer will be available for consultations. On this day, additional plants in various stages of development can be seen.
On this day, the Neuenhof Nature and Bird Protection Association will also show you which plants you can use as a good alternative.

Beautiful waste garbage cans
Admire the artistically designed waste garbage cans. Various pictures and drawings were submitted under the motto “Art Bucket”.
A jury selected the six most beautiful of these and had the subjects printed on film. These adorn the litter garbage cans during the Environment Week in the city center and other highly frequented locations.

The nature and puzzle game takes you right across Neuenhof – from the center along the banks of the Limmat to the old village center and into the forest. A task awaits you at each of the nine posts along the way. Let us challenge you! With a little brainpower, logic and imagination, you are sure to solve the puzzle. The game lasts around two to three hours (not including the break). Anyone who guesses the solution word in the Neuenhof nature area can take part in the competition prize draw.
The route plan and instructions will be posted here at the end of the month.
You can win:
- Admission to Technorama Winterthur for the whole class
(for school classes) - 5 x 2 tickets to the Trafo Baden cinema
